On the same day Axel Andersson was born, Zdeno Chara logged 23 mins TOI for the Islanders in a 5-3 loss against the Habs. Yesterday in the Boston Bruins pre-season game against the Washington Capitals, the two were paired together.
“He’s such a role model,” said Andersson of Chara in an interview with Michael Tolvo.”He’s great on and off the ice, so he made me comfortable.”
Andersson recorded one assist and logged just over 21 minutes of ice-time in the Bruins’ 2-1 overtime victory.
“[He] seemed really poised back there,” said assistant coach Sacco in the press room. “Wasn’t nervous, went back for pucks, didn’t seem to get rattled or anything. Even when the pressure came on him a few times he didn’t seem to back off, he stuck with it.”
