Erik Thorell is having a stellar season with HIFK of Finland’s Liiga. The forward is the team’s top point producer with 36 points in 45 games, 11 goals and 25 assists.
This is Thorell’s second season in Liiga. Last year he played for TPS and showed off his ability to rack up points already then, recording 44 points in 56 games with 24 goals and 20 assists.
As described by Elite Prospects, Thorell is “a smallish winger with good hockey sense and impressive speed. Thorell is a fearless player with scoring ability and the willingness to play hard and determined. Not much of a physical threat. One of those players that will still fill a role as a team/role player if he is not able to translate his scoring to the next level. A team player with an exceptional work ethic and a great attitude.”
We can’t help but agree! Check out Thorell’s latest goal in HIFK’s 3-0 win against Ilves:
